Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a technique which helps to improve health by learning to control certain internal bodily processes that normally occur involuntarily, such as heart rate or blood pressure. Heart rate can be measured and displayed on a monitor that provides feedback to the participant about the internal workings of his or her body. You can then be taught to use this information to gain control over these "involuntary" activities to relax and relieve stress. Biofeedback is a learning experience that requires motivation, time, effort, practice and honest communication with your therapist.  The total number of biofeedback sessions varies. At the end of each session, your therapist will review your progress and outline a specific schedule for you to practice what you have learned at home. Consistent practice between sessions will help you to remember your biofeedback training and reinforce it.

Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback. It is essentially exercise for your brain!  Neurofeedback is a training process that utilizes technology to provide you with information about how the brain is operating. This "feedback" helps you learn to use your mind to develop greater control over your mind and body. It is an innovative DRUG-FREE approach to ADD/ADHD, stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia, migraines, addictions, peak performance & more.  Combining Neurofeedback with traditional therapies such as cognitive therapy, offer a sophisticated mind-fitness technique. Neurofeedback is a profound yet gentle computerized training method. It monitors electrical impulses in the central nervous system and feeds back information about your brainwave activity & corresponding state of mind, allowing your brain to rebalance itself naturally.
